Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 - Slicing The Heart Of Britannia [1]

A/N: Got home from DofE, worst experience of my life. Not only did it force me to skip two of my gym days, but I have blisters and a sprained ankle. Can't believe I did all of that for a fancy piece of paper.

E/N: Or maybe you're just too much of a city boy, you gotta get out in the country every once in a while, or everyday, like me.

A/N: No. You can keep the country land to yourself ma boy.

Claire Bladeheart POV:

After the boy's condition had stabilized, I left the rest of the healing to the specialized mages. I walked over to Irene who had already regained consciousness.

"Don't... hurt... the white haired boy, he's... my brother."

I didn't bother saying anything, I merely nodded my head. However that only served to disguise my shock, Irene was powerful for her age. She was practically a walking catastrophe compared to the average child of her age. Of course, at Babylon Academy she wouldn't seem as impressive, but Babylon was the congregation of geniuses after all. However, she was still a person who had the potential to become a true catastrophe on the battlefield.

After all, she had only been seriously training for around three or four years. And she had only just recently unlocked her true potential with that Partial Dragonification.

But she was reduced to that state, no ordinary soldier would even be able to pierce her Dragonified skin. I'm not even sure if they could even get close enough to her. However, judging by how cold she was, she must have been forced to use Ice Empress. She was forced to use both of her trump cards, exhaust herself and break her limits, but she was still the first one to pass out.

However, the boy over there was able to force whoever, or whatever, they were fighting to retreat. Judging by his current state, he probably got extremely lucky. And although I doubt he has more Mana and raw power than Irene, judging by how he was still standing after those wounds, he must have monstrous endurance, tenacity and skill.

And he was a whole year younger than Irene.

I began to approach the castle, my soldiers hadn't returned yet, so they had likely been massacred. And that slightly pissed me off.

I walked into the castle, and immediately two soldier's dashed at me and swung their swords at my neck. I didn't even bother reacting, when their swords made contact with my skin, they shattered. I snapped my fingers, and the two soldier's blew apart. Their crimson blood dyed the walls red and their guts painted the floor.

I made my way up the stairs and I soon found myself in a large hall where hundreds of mages were bundled up, and ready to fire. And fire they did.

They all released attacks of all assortments, some of them even rushed towards me, ignoring the possibility of them being hurt by their comrades' attacks. Some were hit by their comrades' attacks, but still pushed on while practically dead.

Their attacks never reached me though, I extended my hand and I removed all the air between me and the mages. They all were pulled towards me, I began to use my wind magic to slowly crush their bodies. I slowly turned my hand into a fist, by the time my hand was a fist, they had all been condensed into a disgusting ball of flesh, armor, and clothes.

That attack had unfortunately wasted a huge chunk of my Mana, but it was worth it considering it took out hundreds of mages.

At the very back of the hallway was a woman on a throne. Although her face was rather beautiful, it wasn't as good as mine in my opinion. Her long white hair was lathered with red plus signs. Her outfit resembled a nurse's, she was a rather buxom woman like myself. Her eyes were quite disturbing to me for some reason, they were purely white aside from the red plus signs that acted as her pupils.

(A/N: There's a personality related reason as to why she's comparing herself to the nurse, and another reason might be because I forgot to explain that she was hot and had big bazongas)

(E/N: Like I said before, we got ourselves another waifu boys!)

(A/N: Damn bro, I think Valier is best waifu though)

"What the fuck?"

I was rather shocked at whatever I was looking at, was it a homunculus, a golem, or perhaps something different?

Whatever it was, it couldn't have been human, could it? No human looked like that, right?

She took out a pistol, guns were quite uncommon weapons in this day and age unless you were a non mage due to how hard it was to actually use a gun in tandem with Mana. That was because, if you just surrounded the bullet in Mana, it destroyed the whole gun even if it did cause serious damage. It was just impractical.

Second of all, if you enhanced the entire gun, not only would it be incredibly complex due to its mechanisms, not counting however many could enhance the gun itself, but even if you could do it, it was a bit too complex to do when on the battlefield.

And third of all, it was hard to mass produce bullets made with expensive ores. With a sword made of highly coveted materials, it can be used for as long as you maintain it. And even if it breaks, whatever you have left can be reused for a new weapon. However, once a bullet was used, it was gone.

However, there were exceptions. Snipers for example, since they usually tried to end the fight in a single attack, it didn't matter if the weapon broke assuming you made your shot. However, it was honestly much easier to use a bow, as it didn't split the heavens with the noise it created, and on top of that, it was easier to enhance a bow and arrow compared to a gun.

That was because it's obviously just not as complex as a gun.

Another exception is if the gun is an Artifact, although there aren't really any such Artifact's due to them not being ingrained in Mythology.

However, again, there was another exception, Rune Bearer's. Certain Rune Bearer's didn't source their power from a mythological being, but rather a famous human. Where these humans come from, or what they truly are is unknown, but they exist and can be a Rune. And at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

And with that, I deduced that she was indeed a human, an odd one, but a human nonetheless. But she was a Rune Bearer.

She raised her pistol and aimed at me, and then, I heard her pull the trigger and a bullet rushed towards me.
