Fletcher had no contemplations about his decision.
His hands tightened around the steering wheel as he saw the bold words right in front of him 'Anson Mental institute'. A gulp formed in his throat.
With determination, he left the car and walked to the entrance of the building.
It was quiet cool inside the building even in the middle of summers. "Olivia" he greets the woman at the reception and she nods. "I want to check myself in" he says.
Olivia nods and starts writing his information down.
He starts feeling something weird, something he has never felt. As he roams his eyes around, he could see a black haired woman passing on the other side of the door.
He feels immense eagerness to talk to her but he ignores it.
"Sir, your information has been entered, Rocky will show you your room" Olivia says and he nods. She rings a bell and after a minute, Rocky, a middle aged man comes to take him to his room.
Fletcher leaves with him. They enter the first door where the guards sat with a weird expression in their eyes. It was almost as if they had no soul.
Fletcher tried calming down himself, his thoughts were getting a hold of him again.
They walked through a long hall and he could see rooms on the both sides of it.
This institute was formed by his father as a ways of turning his black money into legal. He asked his illegal partners to give funds to this institute and withdraws them on the name of maintenance.
All the patients here were people who mostly had no one to take care of them.
Most of them were mad but some of them were just here because they were alone and had no money, no roof, no backup plan.
The patients here who really needed help were financially unable to afford the treatment hence, here.
That is exactly why his father chose this institute to be free for the patients, because then no one in the patients would have been financially or socially able to easier a voice against him even if his actions come to light.
He walks across the hall and they enter the elevator which was surprisingly not working, so they took the stairs.
It was surprising that the elevator didn't work because his father always makes sure that the facade of taking care of the patients is well taken care of.
They reach the second floor and Rocky puts in key in the keyhole.
After a click sound, the room opens and they enter the small four walled cell.
It was a cell because it traps everyone who comes in, people coming here are never able to leave because they become more insane with every passing second.
"Thanks Rocky" he says as Rocky nods his head and leaves. He hears the clicking sound indicating that he has been locked in.
But this is exactly what he had expected and wanted, to be locked in so that he cannot harm anybody, to be alone so that he can get a hold of himself. And if he's not able to, then he might as well get happily trapped here for the rest of his life.
He walked to the nearest wall to bang his hands on it.
He may not be mentally unstable right now, but what harm was it to take out his frustration? After all, he was now legally mad after his admission to this institute.
He punched the wall and he could have sworn it shook a little. This was strange.
He took a few steps back, bewildered. Maybe this was all in his head. He went to the door and kicked it with his feet but surprisingly, it opened. Rocky had locked it didn't he?
As the door flung open, he peaked his head out and looked sideways. On both sides of him were long rows of room. He made sure that no nurse or staff member is outside as he made his way out. This place was huge.
As he was walking, he looked inside another room from the small window on the door.
There was a man sleeping who suddenly started coughing violently. Fletcher took a step back and looked inside another room as he was walking.
A man was standing in his room with his hands in his hair when suddenly he looked wide eyes around him.
He looked like he was trying to fight for his life as he aggressively jumped and ran around the room.
The man came running to the door and started pulling it.
This shocked Fletcher and he took a step back.
The man continued trying to pull the door.
"Is anybody there? Help please.I don't want to die in here" the man shouted and frantically looked around his room.
The man picked up a chair and started attacking the door with it. Fletcher kept walking but then he heard sounds of heels clicking against the floor.
He ran to his room and closed the door. If someone comes and questions why his door was not locked, he will just blame it on Rocky and act surprised.
The sound of heels clicking against the floor came closer and closer to his room.
After a few minutes, the door opened and a woman walked in. She was in nurse's uniform and the batch on her dress said Alice Parker.
It was the same woman he saw when he entered the building.
The woman with raven black hair and light grey eyes. Her complexion was pale. She was in the regular nurse's uniform but her hands had gloves on them.
"Good afternoon Mr" she stopped to look at him.
"Anson. Fletcher Anson" he completed for her and she nodded her head. He found it weird that she didn't already know his name, she was his nurse after all.
"I'm your nurse Alice Parker and I will be noting your progress" she said and pulled a chair to take a seat next to him.
She was gorgeous that is for sure but there was something else in her which made him feel like adrenaline had been just injected into his veins.
He felt like he had to be alerted, to stay on his sense around her. Which was something new for him.
"Let's start shall we?" She questioned and he nodded.
