Chapter 11 - 11. Alastair

Alastair Pov:

My name is Alastair Evans Walker. We were one of the rare nobles, known as "The Walkers".

The Walkers are known for raising the most talented mages in the nation, or maybe the whole world. All of my ancestors have been excellent Thunder and Ice type mages, and others were scientists, in Daara's Academy of Scholars.

I was born with Water affinity, but soon mastered Thunder and Ice as well. My father, Augustus Walker was a scholar in Daara, A gem to our homeland.  I loved him dearly; he was the reason I wanted to study so hard. He gave me everything, from my childhood nickname, Alan, to making sure that I never had to struggle.

He was a scholar but he wanted me to become a mage, and fight for the royal family....if it was alive.

But the sweet dream was soon over when I turned Six, and he left us, forever. I never got to ask him why, and my mother said he was "Tired of us".  It was then, that I realized, our family wasn't what it's shown to the outside world.

Time was rough after that, my mother started drinking even more, and I wasn't better off either. Our butler's son, Blake Evans, was the only friend I had. He is like a brother to me. He was smart, level headed, and charismatic. I adore him, till now.

2 years later, she came home with someone who claimed to take care of us forever.

'Tefan Ash Brown.'

And my life went downhill since then.

----------------------

1399:

One year after Tefan set foot in our house, I was 9, and already miserable.  They would come home drunk, and neglect me. It was only our butler and Blake, who kept me sane around them.

"Alan be strong, be brave, be calm" were the words I used to hear from my father. 'Alan', a nickname so close to my heart, I never let anyone use it, other than my dear ones.

I tried my best to train and become the best mage in history, I had mastered Thunder, Ice and water. I wanted mother to be proud of me, to notice me. She never did, she always looked past my abilities, ignoring my achievements.

"Your just wasting your time", her words would always echo through the halls.

And it all tumbled down to 1400, when I got the news, that Tefan had sold us.

My mother died protecting me, and Blake found us, and dragged me out of the house into his arms. He cried, telling me that everything would be alright. That there will be other chances.

And I swore on my life, that I would kill Tefan.

--------------

I was a noble, so gradually, I had sources from all over the nation, so I gathered every intel I could find on him. I tracked him down, disguised myself as a loan shark, and got him on my trap. What I didn't expect was that he sold his own family. Does he not have a heart? Not my concern.

I'm only doing this for Mother.

1411:

"How did she kill them all, are you even serious?" Alastair raised a brow at his lackey, his hand still on Calia's wrist.

Blake had left the house, and Alastair had ordered his men to take Ei's deceased body away, and cremate her. It was an accident to kill Ei, he never wanted this to happen either. Cremating her was the least he could do.

Unfortunately for him, Blake had insited to kill Calia as well, since "ending his bloodline for good will be better than leaving her behind so she can take revenge against us". Maybe I will kill her, someday.

"Yes boss. I barely  escaped" the lackey told, quivering and clutching his broken hand.

"Useless fuckers." Alastair growled, looking back at the unconscious girl.

"Take care of the bodies, I'll take this one." he ordered them, as he proceeded to take Calia in his arms and went out of the house, without looking back. He looked at the girl in his arms, she was peaceful, yet so beautiful. Her shining brown locs hanging sideways, her lips a bit parted, and her skin still glowing even with blood and dirt.

"I can't believe I'm doing this right now."

-----------------

2 hours later:

It was a long path they've been walking, it  led to a thick forest, and the kingdom of Enchancia behind, no signs of animals or humans were there. In the centre, there was a relatively big pond, the water so clear you can see yourself in it. A sweet scent of the forest enveloping the surroundings, The sun shining brightly at the top. It was almost like a transition between a fallen kingdom to the most lively kingdom on the planet.

Alastair put her beside the pond, his motive was to get her out of Enchancia and tell Blake he had left her to die. Surely there wasn't any chance she would survive on her own either way.

She laid down next to the pond, the surface rippling slightly from the gentle breeze, a few leaves falling near her head and her eyes fluttered closed, before opening again, her breathing shallow, and chest moving ever so slightly.

Subconsciously, he kept his dagger beside her, while assuring himself it would be of no use anyway. Then he lightly cupped the girl's face in his palm, and looked at her with a mix of emotions. Hatred, Pity, Amusement, Regret...Fear. Sighing deeply he whispered,

"Let's never meet again."

With that, the man stood up, straightening his leather jacket and black pants, and disappeared in the wilderness.
