Chapter 5 - Hour Glass

As night slowly and painfully became day, Meldrum stayed still. Tired and enraged at his current predicament, he stood up, walked towards the silhouette and tried to walk through it. While doing it, Meldrum gripped his knife, preparing to counter attack the silhouette in case it attacks him as he walked, but the silhouette put up no resistance. Meldrum walked through the silhouette and continued downstairs as the silhouette turned and followed at a distance. Meldrum now continued his daily tasks of harvesting his crops, watering them, preserving them, pulling weeds, and selling the crops. As Meldrum packed his crops into crates and lifted them into a small truck, the silhouette gaze somehow with more anticipation than before. Meldrum started his truck and drove to a nearby town, selling his crops to a supermarket there. Although the silhouette was there, no one except Meldrum seemed to notice. Thankful but confused at why the people couldn't see the silhouette, Meldrum drove back to his farm. Then, he made dinner, ate, and washed the dishes again like before. He proceeded to walk to his room and sat at the corner again, still too afraid to sleep because of the silhouette. He kept eyeing the silhouette, seeing its anticipation, and he was once again, driven to anger by how helpless he was in this situation. However, he kept his composure and eyed the silhouette through the night. He would repeat these actions for another four days and nights until his body couldn't proceed any longer. His body begged to sleep and he finally gave in and on the seventh night, he limped to his bed and fell asleep.
