"I can't let you go just like that. There were a lot of dangerous people waiting for you." Dylan opened the door. "Let's go and eat breakfast then, we can talk," he said.
Austin was inside Dylan's house.
He didn't know where else to go so he followed. He sat on the chair at the kitchen counter as Dylan made him something to eat. Austin started eating while Dylan went around preparing their plates. They ate in silence until Austin spoke up.
"Why are you doing this? Why keep me here?" Austin asked him, he felt like there was more than what Dylan said about being a good man and having no problem with letting someone go but there was still something off about Dylan.
The alpha put down his fork and looked him in the eyes. "Because I want to protect you," he replied.
Austin didn't look convinced. "Protect me from what? From them? From yourself?"
