"And you are sure you told Nicolás about this?" Annalise asked, wiping her sweaty palms against her dress before gratefully collecting the flute a passing waiter handed to her.
She was too embarrassed by the memories of last night with Nicolás so she'd had Nadia call him and tell him about the party seeing as she was too buried deep in her shame to summon up the courage to do it herself.
Nadia playfully rolled her eyes. "Yes, Mrs. Nicolás. I called your husband and told him."
"What did he say?"
And yet again, Nadia just shrugged.
"Really, what did he say?"
Nadia sighed. "I didn't get him, okay, I got his voicemail and I told him so you don't have to worry and if he comes home and doesn't see you, he can call you, you know through a cell phone, Annalise. You have one of those, right?"
Annalise chuckled. "I don't think he has my number."
Nadia let out a gasp. "You don't mean it!"
