Annalise sank into one of the seats outside the hospital's cafeteria into its beautiful garden, shutting her eyes and letting the night's chilliness calm her pulsating heart. Her mind was a jungle tonight, her heart was still flailing wildly and her stomach was a cocoon of butterflies.
She could still feel the lingering warmth that accompanied Nicolás's arms around her. She didn't know how to feel or what to make of it, something had changed tonight, Annalise couldn't exactly say what it was but she knew something definitely had.
The guilt was still there and she hated it. It was eating deep at her, telling her this was her fault, telling her she was somehow responsible for Isabella's actions, and instead of making things right like she'd told herself she would, she ended up doing something else - she had no idea what she'd even done.
