The last of the candles were dying out alongside the flicker of hope Annalise had left. Tears blurred her vision but she wiped the corner of her eyes, actively stopping them from falling.

But it got harder with each passing hour of Nicolás's absence. She had called him multiple times and every single time, it rang and rang until she got his voicemail eventually.
Her last message had been;
"Hi, Nicolás," and she had hesitated, worry filling up her lungs. "I'm worried about you so please if you get this message, call me as soon as you can. Please." the last word said in a small, nervous voice.
Her next call had been to Nadia to ask to speak to Marco and when he had come to the line, she had asked him worried about Nicolás.
