Her eyes met Benjamin's as soon as they cornered into the hallway. He was seated next to Alfredo and Annalise halted her steps, her eyes widening as she recalled the last time she had seen him.
He wasn't even looking at her, he had a look of genuine worry etched on his expression instead and she saw Benjamin look past her to Nicolá. Annalise felt the instinctive urge to shield Nicolás from her father's gaze. She grabbed him by the hand and glared at her father as though daring him to get closer to her husband.
"Why are you here?" Luciana snapped. "What are you here for and with him?"
The disgust in her tone was obvious and Annalise wished she could ignore her.
"I want to see Luca." She said,
Her mother's eyes turned to slits. "He has no reason to see you, Astrid. You gave up on us all, didn't you?"
She wasn't here to listen to any of these once more.
"I want to see Luca," She repeated.
"Get out, Nicolás! I do not…"
