Annalise stared blankly at the high ceiling, it was coated in golden, intricate designs and that had been her view for the last hours, days, week... Tears rolled down the side of her eyes.
She felt stuck in her own body and perhaps the feeling had always been there but now it overwhelmed her. She had never felt in charge of herself and now more than ever.
Her head turned slightly to her side and she stared at the window wondering what it would feel like to climb out of it and let herself go. She was certain in that those few seconds spent soaring in the air, she would find the freedom she so desperately craved. She had never been suicidal, not once had the thought occurred to her but now she wouldn't mind.
It had been a month and two weeks since the incident and she had remained confined in her bed, unable to do anything by herself. She could no longer feel her legs.
