Nocolás slinked as one with the darkness, burying into its shadows. His walk was stealthy and soundless as he made his way through the lonely alleyway.
His heart beat with a steady rhythm even though tonight could be the end for him but still, the danger gave him an inexplicable thrill, his heart soaring, his blood pumping faster. At the far end was a lone pole with a diminishing street light.
He reached it and stood for a few minutes, his eyes searching into the distant darkness for the person he was meeting.
It was a few more minutes when he sensed a presence behind him.
Nicolás turned sharply to it, he hadn't heard the man approach - a woman, it was a woman.
She smiled at him, aware of the quick look of surprise on his expression.
