Theodore's car stopped in front of uncle Ben's house. Esme did not wait for him to get out, she simply got off and walked inside. It has been Esme's home for some time, after all, she did not have to ring the bell or knock to enter it.
There in the living room, Esme found uncle Ben and aunty Sarah along with Ronnie. They seemed to be engrossed in some serious talk. They all turned towards her at once when they realised someone's presence.
"Here she is," Ronnie said in a mocking tone.
"Aunty, uncle," before Esme could say anything, aunty Sarah came forward and gave her a motherly hug.
"I heard that you found your mate," Aunty Sarah said and Esme could sense a slight sadness in her voice.
"Yes, I found him." Esme managed to whisper.
"Has he come here now?" uncle Ben asked, making them break the hug. Esme simply nodded her head. Just then, Theodore walked inside. His aggressive and authoritative aura filled the house within a few seconds. Suddenly, Ronnie became polite.
"Welcome to our pack, Alpha Theodore. We are honoured to have you here," Ronnie said, showing off his over politeness.
Theodore nodded his head, just acknowledging the welcome and he turned to uncle Ben and spoke, "I will be taking Esme with me." It was more of a statement than a request. Who was anyone to question his words? Theodore is the alpha of one of the oldest and most powerful packs, The Silverfur Pack.
Uncle Ben and aunty Sarah could only nod their heads in agreement. Soon, Esme found herself in her room, packing her stuff, while aunty and uncle were treating Theodore to some refreshments.
A knock on Esme's room door made her pause the packing. She opened the door only to find a very pissed off Ronnie on the other side. She thinks he is pissed off by Theodore's dismissal of his greetings rather than her finding a mate.
"What is it?" Esme asked hurriedly as she had things to pack.
Ronnie smirked at her, entering the room, making Esme walk backward, "So now that you have got Theodore as your mate, you have got guts to talk to me casually."
Esme knew that she was right about his attitude right now.
"How is Charlie?" Esme changed the subject not wanting to get into any arguments with him. Because now was not the time for it.
"Why?? It is not like you care about him,"
"Why do you say like that? Charlie is my friend. Of course, I care about him,"
"Oh, I saw how much you cared about him when you walked away with your mate at the ritual earlier in the morning," Ronnie continued to taunt Esme.
"I did not mean to do that," Esme defended herself. After all, it was not her fault that Theodore pulled her away.
"Oh really," Ronnie whispered, coming closer to Esme. She walked backward until her back hit the cupboard. He caged her with his arms on both the sides of her body.
"What are you d- doing Ronnie?" Esme stuttered nervously.
"I feel bad for letting you slip away that night. See now, you have already found your mate. That too the strongest one in our realm." Greediness and Evilness reeked through Ronnie's words.
A shiver ran through Esme's spine, remembering that night. She and Charlie had been to the pack house to have some fun time with their friends as it was a weekend. But some werewolves got drunk and Ronnie tried to take advantage of Esme and had dragged her to his room. If not for Charlie, she would not be able to hold onto her virginity until now. She would have been taken against her will.
Tears filled Esme's eyes and her hands began to shake. Ronnie is the disguise of a demon. Nobody really knows how bad and cruel and disgusting he is. Nobody really even believes if anyone complains about him. He has this responsible and caring alpha facade on a whole new level.
Ronnie moves his hand towards Esme's body, and before he could do anything to her, the room door bursts open, and Ronnie moves away from her and stands at a distance like a gentleman.
Theodore walked in and traced his eyes through the room, "Are you done with the packing? We have to leave soon. I have some other work."
Esme nodded her head vigorously and moved to her bed. She immediately threw a few more things and strapped the zip. Before she could take it down the bed, Ronnie pulled it from her hand and smiled at her as if he did not do anything bad towards her just a few seconds ago, "I will help you with that, Esme."
Theodore walks out of the room and Esme follows him silently.
As they reached downstairs, Esme hugged aunty Sarah, " I am sorry about Charlie. I could not help him with his wounds."
Aunty Sarah rubbed her back, trying to soothe her, "It is all okay, Sweetie. Don't you worry. He is sleeping at the moment because of the medicine. He will get well in a few days. Maybe I will ask him to visit you at your pack. Is that okay?" she asked Esme. She wiped her tears and said, "Yes, please, do it. I want to see him all healthy and fine."
Esme's next hug goes to uncle Ben, he hugged her just like a father would hug his daughter. After all, he has been a father to Esme for the last few years.
"I am gonna miss you, Uncle," Esme mumbled into his shoulder.
He chuckled lightly, "I will miss you too, Pumpkin." The nickname made her laugh. It was a nickname from her dad and Charlie used to tease her about it while growing up. And he often used it to annoy Esme.
Esme let go of the hug and turned the other way. Ronnie looked at her with a wicked smile on his face. So she simply ignored him and looked at Theodore. He looked like he was tired of the sentimental family drama that was happening in front of his eyes.
"Shall we leave now?" Theodore asked her impatiently. Esme nodded her head and turned towards her uncle and aunt to say goodbye for one last time.
They all bid bye and Esme got into the car. Within a few minutes, they were on the road, heading towards Theodore's pack, The Silverfur Pack. Esme's new pack, her new home. She just hoped that she won't be disliked by anyone here. She has yet to meet Theodore's parents. She knows that his father is dead, but she has also heard rumours regarding his death. She wondered how Theodore's mother would. Esme hoped that she would be warm just like her mom and aunty Sarah.
While the thoughts darted through Esme's mind, her eyes began to close for a light nap until they reached the pack.
