For the next three days, Imelda visited John's house every day. She was worried John might do foolish things because of grieving. So Imelda brought a meal and beverage each time she went to John's place to ensure he would eat and drink regularly.
John said nothing and acted as if nothing had happened. He didn't talk about Sophia anymore. However, the good thing was John wasn't drunk anymore since then.
On the night of the three days, John hugged Imelda as she wanted to return to Ryan's house. "Ma, thank you."
Imelda cupped John's face and smiled. "No need to thank me. I only do what a mother will do."
"Has Father asked you about your decision?"
"Not yet. Your father must wait for me to come to him." Imelda sighed as she found it hard to deal with. "I don't want to hurt him, but I know I can't accept his request."
"Ma, please accept Father's proposal if you truly love me. He loves you, and I know you love him too."
