"Really? Then what about going to the battle? Are you ready?" Ryan looked at Killian coldly.
"I will be ready, Alpha."
"I don't get you. Going to battle may cost you your life too. So, what's the difference?" Ryan sneered as he noticed how stiff John's back was.
"My pack already has Alpha John and Beta Daniel as their leaders. They met Luna Imelda too. So, if I die in the battle, they won't be like children losing their parents." Killian bent his head deeper. "My pack is still small and weak. When Alpha John and Beta Daniel attacked us, they would mourn me a lot if I died. They haven't known their new leaders and would fear the unknown." Killian sighed. "Alpha, you may think I exaggerated things, but I didn't. We depend on each other a lot. That's why I knew it was better facing humiliation than causing great suffering for my pack."
Ryan said nothing after that. Then he said, "I want to speak with my son alone."
