Dominick took a deep breath. He didn't answer Viona's question immediately. After looking around, Dominick sighed.
"We may need to continue our conversation at our house. Allegra will be our guest, and Cecily has returned home too. So let's talk later."
Viona shook her head. "No, I need to know it now. I must know my position in your heart."
"What do you mean?" Dominick stared at Viona.
"If you still love her, maybe you want her back in your life." Viona bent her head, trying to breathe because her chest felt heavy. "If you still love her, I understand." Yet her voice was hoarse. "She sacrificed everything for you. So I pity her but also admire her. I will leave."
"What do you mean you will leave?"
Viona's eyes were teary. She wiped her eyes quickly. "I will return everything that belongs to her."
"Viona, listen to me. You have talked nonsense. Nothing will change between us. Allegra was my past. That's all."
