Sophia observed how John and Henry interacted. She was sure John loved Henry. His immediate coming after Philip informed him about Henry had proven it. Of course, Sophia was relieved for Henry, but in the short time she spent with Henry, Sophia already liked Henry.
It could be because there were similarities between them. They were half-orphans, though, for Sophia, it was more like being an orphan as she couldn't reach her mother. Also, Henry called her Mommy. So, Sophia wanted to ease those miseries away when Henry was sad.
How Henry stared, hugged, and depended on her as a son to his mother moved Sophia's heart. When she heard Henry saying that John wasn't his birth father, it shocked Sophia. But now that she saw how concerned John was about Henry, she wondered if Henry misinterpreted what the strangers said.
Then, she coughed. "I will walk for a few minutes on the beach. I'll be back soon." Sophia walked to the door.
