Baker was sitting on the bed with a small laptop computer. Yes he stole it. It was strange to now be one of the people that had to sneak and take things. To be with nothing, and he knew it would take some adjustment. The society had provided him with everything prior to now. He wasn't expecting someone to just up and adopt him. Though he at least was not alone with Vintas and Portia as companions at the moment.
He had gone ahead and just ditched the stolen cellphone. Broke it apart and tossed it in the river. Even if the owner of the phone went to great lengths to try and get it back. It wasn't like they could pinpoint the where nor cared too.
They'd used the towers, and pinpoint a location area, but this wasn't the movies. Plus he saw a notification on the phone saying services were suspended so he figured the owner took the loss and deactivated the thing.
