I always think to myself, how can I have a self confidence? I'm not that beautiful and not so smart either. And my classmates will go ahead of me because I will stop studying. My mom and dad can't afford to pay for my tuition anymore, my sister Nica is graduating. I need to give way for her to graduate.
I thought, I will continue my studies in Korea. I also thought that it would be me and Jung-moon till the end, but it all came to an end. And it seems like it was just a dream that happened in my life to have a boyfriend like Jung-moon. He is gone.
…
Final day of our class, and I'm appreciative.
My classmates are talking about their outing on the beach. Eumie said that she is going on vacation to Korea. "I will go to Seoul Korea for a month, my mom is already there, I can meet Korean folks!" Eumie said proudly.
"Gee! Your vacation is exciting," Kate said.
"Of course, I can finally get there and go to the locations of motion pictures of the k-dramas that I watched, I'm so excited!" Eumie said happily. "Possibly once you come home you will have a Korean boyfriend!" Kate chuckled.
"Of course, I'm beyond any doubt I'll meet a handsome Korean guys there!" Eumie chuckled back.
While they were talking, I was fair silent. I begun to feel sadness within me.
After our class, while I was organizing my belongings, I heard my classmates talking about their closing parties, no one indeed inviting me. I fair ignored everything. I wanna go home. I went out of our school and never bothered to look back, as I went on I did not realize that this is where it will all begin. A life changing journey of mine
….
I was in the middle of the city walking alone, I feel like its too early to go home, I want to go out. It doesn't matter to me if I don't have a companion, but there is only one thing in my mind, I want to go back to that club. I want to ask the guard again, and while I've been in deep thought, and then suddenly, out of no where I unexpectedly bumped into someone.
"Kirstein?" she called out as she looked at me.
I gazed at her, she looks so familiar.
"Mabel?" Astounded, I said.
"Long time no see! How are you?" She greeted me.
She was my classmate in high school and a friend then, and I never thought we would meet again.
" I'm fine, how are you?" I grinned at her,
"I'm in my 3rd year of College, I am graduating next year," she said.
Mabel noticed that I was in a hurry.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
I suddenly felt not to go yet, I want to mingle with her first.
I shrugged my shoulders, and I smiled at her.
"Nothing particular, I about to go home, how about you, where are you going?" I asked her back. "I'm just finished shopping and I also about to go home. Anyway, do you like to eat or have some coffee? So that we can able to talk, we haven't seen each other for a long time," she said and she invited me. But, I was ashamed to say that I only had enough fare in my pocket. "Don't worry, it's my treat," she smiled.
"But," I shyly said.
"Don't be shy, let's go!"
I could do nothing, but to go with her.
"I will also meet my classmate. Today was our last day at school," she said, referring about her classmate now in college.
"Oh, okay! We are the same, our last day was also earlier," I said.
We gladly sauntered at the snack shop, and ordered burgers and soft drinks. We sat at a table with four chairs in the corner. "I heard you went into Korea, what happened?" She asked. "Yeah, it was two years ago, I studied there, but I did not continue so I am here again,"
"Really? But why?"
"Our family business was broke, so my parent's can't afford my schooling there anymore,"
"Oh, sorry to hear that,"
"No worries,"
"I'm sure you learned a lot about Korea, especially their language, right?"
"Yes, a little bit," I said to Mabel with a grin, after a while, her cell phone suddenly rang, her friend called, and she told her in the line where we were. Not a moment too soon, she came. As she approached us, I glanced at her. I instantly recognized her, she is Alison, my estrange best friend.
