There were a couple of residents Clarence could spot from a far away who were moving about doing their usual business. They couldn't spot him yet as their eyesight obviously wasn't as good as his, who was a rank three cultivator.
Clarence had already disembarked from his carriage and kept it in his spatial bracelet a fair distance away to not give away his identity.
The carriage which they had always made fun of was actually far more pricey in the outerworld. Only in the academy could one get it at a cheaper price through using credits.
It was one of the benefits of using credits in the academy. Like it was mentioned previously, it was designed to minimise the impact of people who would use their outside status to earn resources.
So in this case, even if people use their outside status to have more resources, it could never compare to one using credits in the academy.
