It was his father, Lysander standing there calmly, smiling at him. He felt no mana fluctuations whatsoever even with him being extremely sensitive to it.
Clarence was now a rank three, and he couldn't believe he still failed to sense his father. He approached his father and asked,
"You… here?"
Even though he was happy seeing his father, he still wanted to know why he was here.
His father playfully smiled at him and replied with a question of his own,
"It seems you forgot about our bet? You won the entrance ceremony, you know."
Clarence had a surprised expression on his face when he listened to this, the bet had completely escaped his mind amongst all the turmoil.
He also forgot about his initial resolve, that he needed to win the tournament not just because it was obvious to want to win or to get the resources. It was him not wanting to give his father the daggers.
