The next day Clarence woke up and noticed that his injuries had gotten a whole lot better. After completing his daily routine, he went back to his tent and started going through the techniques and spells he had exchanged yesterday.
He had exchanged two techniques and two spells from the system after carefully considering if they'll be useful in the future. One of the techniques increased the strength of his arms.
He had noticed that he was falling short in terms of pure physical strength. The only thing he could find solace in was the fact that his speed was actually a lot better than his peers at rank two including some at rank three too.
He also wanted to find out how he was able to heal and gather mana yesterday. By now he knew everyone must have guessed that yesterday he must've stepped into the second stage of meditation scripture, except his mom who would've guessed that he likely had an epiphany.
But only he knew that it wasn't even one of them. Yesterday after the match, when he was resting in his tent, he had checked his mindspace and just like he had guessed, it was indeed the work of the golden blue energy in the orb as it was empty when he checked it.
He was immensely satisfied knowing he had finally found another use of the golden blue energy. It is good for healing and also attracts mana.
Today he had a lot of work to do as he had to go through the techniques to at least get a preliminary understanding on them. Being able to use it in battle would be whole another thing, but it won't hurt to at least get an understanding of them.
He also had to try and know how to mobilize the golden blue energy to show the properties it displayed yesterday. It might be difficult to explain to the people how he could get an epiphany continuously day after day.
When a person gets an epiphany regarding the second stage of meditation scripture, he steps into that realm for a few moments and returns to the first stage.
Most of the time epiphanies give people a chance to step into the realm they were hoping to achieve. The ones with a strong foundation stay in the realm, while the lucky ones who got the epiphany get the chance to experience what the realm is like and then return to their original realms.
Those with not enough foundation or lucky ones after epiphanies get a clear direction of where to head into and have an easier breakthrough to that realm later in the journey.
So although it might be difficult for people to accept him getting epiphany back to back, it won't be unbelievable if they instead think that he already had a strong foundation.
But then the problem with that would be that people might think he had tremendous talent as despite starting cultivating late, he was able to step into the second stage which the common cultivators can only hope to achieve.
He didn't really have a problem with people assuming he had monstrous talent in cultivation, but the problem with that would be if he couldn't live up to that later in the future, there'll be some people keen enough to notice that this achievement of his was fake.
Which might bring them to further assume that, one, he used an artifact which helps in healing and gathering mana. Two, he had some way to get epiphanies back to back.
Both of these assumptions would be disastrous for him as an artifact which can bypass security checks of a divine sense of rank nine legend such as Marvin would definitely have a thing worth studying and see if they could replicate it.
And second, a way to force epiphanies was simply unheard of, one could only come across one but never find it.
But if such a way indeed existed, every major power would want to get hands on it including the bestial races as it would have an instant and tremendous impact on their armies. It could turn the tides of power.
'Ahh, I should stop overthinking, what if they just dismiss this as me getting lucky? I should rather focus on tomorrow's battle rather than thinking so far away.'
With that, he packed up the empty plates he was having breakfast on and got up to practice.
For the next half an hour, he repeated the technique which allowed him to increase the strength in his arms.
Strength increasing techniques were one of the easiest ones one could hope to learn, so Clarence was having a pretty easy time learning it and by the end of an hour, he already had the hang of it.
He then moved on to learn a spell next. It was an illusory spell. When used, the opponent sees an illusion of the object you used the spell on.
It was useful for him as he can deceive the opponent into thinking that the daggers could be blocked or dodged whereas he could just attack them another way.
Clarence practiced the spell for like an hour or so but he kept having difficulties. Unlike the strengthening spell earlier, techniques and spells coming under illusion type are extremely difficult to learn.
The user needs to have a high comprehension ability to properly execute the technique else he or she might confuse themselves while trying to learn it or worse, when in a fight.
After almost an hour or so Clarence discovered another use of the technique wherein he can also use it on his own body parts rather than only objects as he first thought.
He can use the spell on his fist so when he punches, the opponent sees an illusion, and he can punch elsewhere. He also discovered that as he advances more and more in his understanding of the technique, he can control even the illusion as in where it would go and the other things.
