Chapter 16 - Acceptance
"Wait!" Princess Ethena suddenly said and then slowly stood to her feet from where she sat down in the cross-legged position.
At the moment, she had quickly recovered up to half of her previously drained Immortal Power.
She then walked towards Aerracles with an indescribable look in her face.
When she arrived before him, she stared dead at him for a few moments before asking with a strongly curious look manifesting in her face, "Why are you helping me out? Don't you know that by trying to help me out, you will only get yourself gruesomely killed?"
Aerracles heard that and only smiled.
"Being killed because of you by adversaries after your precious life, is nothing but a notable achievement to me. I rather die for something I love, than die to nothing that doesn't excites or warms up my heart, body and soul." He replied calmly and with tenderness in his tone.
Aiiii.
Princess Ethena sighed and slightly shook her head.
Still looking at him, she asked, "Why do you have this interest in me? Don't you have more beautiful female Angels in your Angel World? Why me? Besides, our body constitution and blood composition are different. They won't allow us to bring forth any fruit. It will only be a waste of our time."
Haha!
Aerracles grinned a bit.
He then said with all seriousness in his face, "Back at home in my Angel World, I came across many records of Immortals that my people have been obtaining for years to learn much more about your race."
"In those records, I came across vivid sketches of you and the awe-inspiring descriptions of the things that you could do and just couldn't help but fall in love with you."
"The first moment that I laid my eyes on a particular sketching of you, something in me instantly whispered to my soul that you were absolutely the one for me. No female Angel in my world could make me think like that, and up to the point of solidly affirming in my heart that she was the one for me."
"So, those beautiful sketches of you which had indelibly branded themselves to my memory, moved everywhere with me, and even to the many cold wars that we fought with many other Angel Tribes that were becoming real nuisances to the Angel World itself."
Once Aerracles said that, and still looking at her with a visible glow of affection and tenderness in his eyes, he continued speaking, "Princess Ethena, it's only you that I will ever want in this life. You are the right person for me. You earnestly complete me. I will want no other female for myself if you bluntly refuse to become mine in the end. Then as for our constitution being entirely different and will stop us from begetting a child that will be a fusion of our two worlds, how would we know if we don't give it a try first? I strongly believe in my heart that we will give birth to a miracle that will grow to illuminate all the worlds and beyond like the celestial sun above. We will give rise to a magnificent and phenomenal golden being that every other entity in the worlds out there, no matter their ranking, will reverently bow in bottomless awe and absolute fear to. But first, for this to happen, give me the key to your heart which I promise to lock away in my chest till my death or the very collapse of time."
Huuuu!
Princess Ethena inhaled deeply the moment after Aerracles finished making those statements.
She then looked at him and said, "I would love to give this a try, but I actually don't feel anything for you. I don't have any sort of feelings towards you. Well, except feelings of gratitude for selflessly coming to my assistance when I was being faced by numerous powerful enemies from my world."
"Don't worry about that, Princess Ethena. With time, and with me being around you to show you how much I truly admire, care, respect and value you, you will certainly develop those beautiful desirous feelings for me and want nothing but me in the end." Aerracles said and grinned in a rather confident manner, while Princess Ethena who couldn't understand where Aerracles's confidence was coming from, simply nodded her head.
"Alright then. Let's give this a try. I hope you don't fail me in the end, or you would have just wasted my precious time." Princess Ethena said with an awry smile appearing in her face.
Upon Princess Ethena giving her acceptance to be engaged in a relationship with him, Aerracles sheepishly beamed a smile of great and unfathomable joy. It was like his many dreams come true at once. At the moment, his inner world and sea of emotions were being quaked and shaken by this bolt of happiness that struck unceasingly within him.
"Thank you so much Princess Ethena for accepting to be romantically engaged with me." Aerracles said delightedly while Princess Ethena only nodded her head.
She then said with a smile in her face, "You can call me Ethena. No need to be so serious with me anymore."
"Point noted." Aerracles smilingly said with the slight nod of his head.
"Okay." Princess Ethena uttered.
She then questioned with a curious look appearing in her face the next moment, "So, where to for now? What are we to do next?"
"Come with me, let's go find the humans that I stay with in this city. We could reside with them in their home located in a small and peaceful village and help them out for anything, I mean the entire villagers staying at the village for anything they want. So, we could help them catch huge amounts of fishes from the rivers, take wild animals from the forest to the village to be roasted and merrily feasted on. It will be fun, I promise you." Aerracles said while smiling, while Princess Ethena who was looking at him with an astounded look in her face, nodded her head in approval.
"How come you have changed so much? What got into you?" Princess Ethena asked while Aerracles who was stunned by her sudden question, looked at her in confusion.
"Huh? What's that? How do you mean?" Aerracles immediately asked, hoping that he hadn't said or done anything that will cause Princess Ethena to revoke her thought in following him to the village where Sharon and Jake inhabited along with the other villagers.
"Well, you no longer carry yourself as this proud, annoying and arrogant winged deity that will make his huge and majestic golden wings appear in it full glory and dazzle all creatures from thousands of miles away." Princess Ethena said with a smile manifesting in her face, while Aerracles who became relieved as soon as he heard what she said, cackled slightly.
"Well, let's just say that I listened to you, Ethena. You have changed my ways." Aerracles seriously said while Ethena's eyes widened in shock.
"Wow. Okay. That's nice to know." She said.
She then spoke further with a contemplative look in her face, "Well, I definitely cannot stay for long with the humans that you reside with. I didn't come to this world to be holed up at some small village and be helping out certain individuals. I want to move around, experience this beautiful and vast world of the humans. I want to dive into the seas and oceans and swim to their very bottoms to see what creatures live there. I want to experience living on the peaks of their tallest mountains and look down from there at the things around them. I just have many spirited adventures to embark on, dear Aerracles. So, forgive me for not wiling to stay for too long with the humans you reside with."
"I understand. I don't have a problem with that. As long as you will come over a few times to greet me over there, I wouldn't miss you too much. Anyways, I also wouldn't be staying for too long with the mortals that I currently live with, I will move out sometimes later to experience the vast world of the humans." Aerracles said while Ethena nodded her head in understanding.
"Alright. Let's go find your people." Ethena said while Aerracles nodded his head and immediately shot into the sky after Ethena who had instantly taken towards the sky like a bolt of lightning.
