I stretched and slowly opened my eyes, I checked the time from my phone and saw that I'd slept for good two hours,it definitely did me good,I got down from my bed and walked down the stairs to defrost one of the containers of stew to eat. I came down and went to the kitchen and saw that the parlor light was switched off like I'd left it,I removed the stew from the freezer for it to defrost while I washed rice to cook. I placed the rice on the fire to cook and decided to watch TV while I'm at it to while away time till atleast the food was ready. I moved sluggishly to the parlor and switched on the lights ,I moved to sit on one of the couches but I saw something that made me scream. Just when I thought I could breath without trouble today and trouble decided to locate me, imagine my shock to find Ramsey laying down on my couch with his eyes closed and his earphones plugged in,I picked one of the throw pillows my his side and hit him on his head with it, immediately I did he jumped up in alert to what had happened and was ready to react until his eyes fell on me.
"Urghhh." he groaned.
"What crawled up your pants and died." in continued while frowning as if he had to idea to why I was reacting this way.
"What're you doing sleeping on my couch and how did you even get in?" I questioned
"I was just napping na and I checked under your foot match at the back door and a spare key was under like old times,so I let myself in through the back door. Not like I'm a stranger or a creep." he replied
Damn that spare key ,I internally reminded myself that I'd remove the spare key from there the moment he left.
"Why aren't you napping in your own house?" I continued
"I nap better when I'm here and it's not like I'm even doing anything right now to get on your nerves,you're the one that bothering me right now,just allow me to sleep aunty." he complained
"I promise I'm not here with ulterior motives ,I just want to relax and it seems you're making something in the kitchen, please make enough for the both of us o,I haven't eaten since I came back." he continued in a sad puppy face to probably convince me.
I eyed him and grunted ,turned back and return back to the kitchen to check on the rice. It was boiling but wasn't cooked yet so I returned back to the parlor to sit,I ignored Ramsey and sat on another couch,I turned on the TV and tuned to a music station to ease off the stress for the day,I lived good music. I waited for some minutes and went to check on the rice,the rice was already cooked and I placed the pot of the stew and put it on the the fire for it to heat up. The stew has heated up to a considerable and eatable level and I made 2 servings for myself and the bighead inside the parlor. I dropped both plates at the dining and called out.
"Oga sir come eat o." I called out to Ramsey.
He walked into the dining and sat down while smiling when his face landed on the plate of rice and big meat on the table.
"Thanks. You've always been a darling." he complimented.
I nearly choked on my meal...STOPPED.. Had I heard correctly or had my ears failed me, Ramsey addressed me in the same sentence as darling.
"Ehnnnn?." I asked staring at him weirdly.
"What?" he paused from eating and questioned
"Why are you acting so nice? it's strange o,are you sure you didn't hit your head or something?" I replied.
"I've always been nice, you just didn't see it." he said smiling.
"Urrrgh nice indeed." I replied and he laughed.
We continued to eat our meals in silence and after which we did the dishes and returned to the parlor to watch TV and I was surprised on how well we communicated if we weren't at each other throat. We watched different music videos and pointed out which were trash and which actually sounded nice.
We talked more and when time was 7pm he left to go home.
"Don't miss me too much briefcase." he said blowing me kisses
"Ewwwwwww." I made a disgusted and a cringing face in reply.
"Oh before I forget how're Mr and Mrs Micheal? hope they're fine,I've missed your mum's cookies" he said.
"They're fine,my mum's touring the world as usual and my dad is on a business trip" I replied.
"How's your dad, haven't seen him in awhile and your mum? hope she's fine?" I continued.
"Hopefully they're fine,I haven't seen them today though, they'll probably be at home right now." he replied.
"Ok sure. Good night"
"Yea good night" he replied and stepped out while I closed the door behind him. I made sure all the windows and doors were shut and I headed to my room. I got to my room and showered,I laid on my bed and began to get lost in my thoughts. On some days I wished my parents were the regular parents,that always slept at home and spent time with me but seems I wasn't made for regular. laying down on my bed in an almost empty house except for me I felt lonely and abandoned,at first staying alone was scary but now I was so used to it but the difficulty I had sleeping hadn't changed one bit. My mind wondered around random subjects and it settled on Ramsey,his attitude this evening had definitely shocked me. He was almost too nice and true to believe, but anyways I'll see how everything turned out. I remembered my meeting with the principal and groaned internally on how I'd be suffering through a while week of undeserved labour,trouble had always gone together with Ramsey,I guess I'd have to try my best to avoid getting in trouble with him.
More random thoughts when through my head till I feel myself dozing off that I finally let my head rest. I dozed off but not without forgetting that I had to get ready in time to go to school tomorrow,I was so exhausted that I wished it was weekend already.
RAMSEY
I crossed over to our compound and sneaked inside through the back door to avoid a confrontation with my dad incase he had returned. He'll probably complain about one thing or the other even if there was nothing to complain about most of the time. Too bad he had given birth to me,I had always been his disappointment.
