"How is it?". Petaluma asked Horace, who had just cut out some vegetables and stuffed them into his mouth.
Horace spat out the food in his mouth, giving a look of dissatisfaction to his mother. " I would need some fresh blood and perhaps raw meat".
Petaluma smacked her lips, placing two hands on the large long table as she stared at her son. " of course, you would need fresh blood and that would be given, after all, you have just passed in your training, dear son".
"But your major involvement should be on how to secure your place on the throne and not just of thirst. When you would finally come to be king, heads would bow and you would have anybody you would want to quench your thirst with. Do you understand that son?".
Horace breathed out sharply, dabbing his lips and pushing away the plates filled with vegetables and stewed meat, while Kian continued to try his best to stuff his mouth with the vegetables, although his digestive system was already screaming bloody hell!!!. He didn't wish his wide itchy mouth to get involved in the soon to be heated arguments.
"Queen mother, you had stated that I am to be exercised, trained and passed on the tasks of blending perfectly. with the humans, have at least 10 per cent of tolerance to what they eat and also drink, learning their lifestyles and traditions, right? So? What's suddenly this?".
" Well dear Horace, rules have changed. You are to get first married to secure the throne - - - ".
Her words were cut short when Kian roughly coughed out loud, hitting his chest to calm down.
" Oh I am so sorry, I got choked up". He apologised when he received annoyed looks from the mother-son duo.
Petaluma ignored her nephew, turning her eyes over to her more annoyed son. "As I was earlier saying, your uncle who has been camouflaging adequately as the president of this human country, would soon arrive to tell you more on this. This is a well-planned deal".
" I am never getting married". Horace was adamant about this.
"And then dear, you haven't been decisive on taking up the throne - - -".
Horace stood up in anger, causing the chair to screech and then slammed his hand on the table; almost breaking it. He was already infuriated and Kian tried as much as he could to turn invisible.
"Self-control son, self-control". Petaluma said nonchalantly. " You didn't let me finish". She gave a small threatening smile.
Kian was already praising himself for his foresight. He had already suspected this mother and son reunion would end in argument as always. The queen beginning to act so sweet and soft was always a signal of her, being about to unleash hell.
"What?". Horace snapped
"Manners boy, I am still the head and you must exhibit respect to me". Her eyes flared, shooting daggers at Horace, who exhaled and then sat down.
" Good!. Now the fun fact". She said, leaning closer to the table. You are not marrying our kind but instead a witch and not a witch of your pick but the witch who would pass some tests before you both would tie the knots".
Horace paused, staring at his mother, gauging her expressions and then let out loud mocking laughter while Kian stopped stuffing the food in his mouth as he was already stunned.
"You expect me to get walked down the aisle to one of those filthy creatures?. That would be the last thing to do". Horace stated in a matter of fact tone.
" You would be shocked to find out, how serious I am". Petaluma said, folding her arms and leaning back on the chair.
She saw Horace stand up in anger, glared at her and then storm out of the dining room.
"Great!". Kian muttered under his breath, standing up to follow suit. He was avoiding being mentioned by the crazy Queen who was about to have her son married to one of those horrible creatures.
" And Kian". Kian heard her call him.
Fuck!. He cursed. He didn't know what next horrible thing, she was about to spout.
"You should get yourself a wife once Horace gets married. I am tired of having seen you change numerous girlfriends like clothes. I don't even know who is the bad influence here, you or Horace?". She muttered the last words under her breath, which Kian heard.
Petaluma saw Kian quickly give an uneasy smile and then scurry away from her. And she huffed in anger.
Those boys were so difficult to regulate.
...
Far away from the luxurious mega-mansion, an isolated mansion with broken walls and missing windows stood in the middle of a street, closer to the cemetery in the town.
The black and broken walls in the house had indicated, that the large house had experienced a huge fire outbreak and might soon or later crumble down.
The old front door in the old house creaked open and the two horrible creatures, Phoebe had seen in the forests, dragged themselves in and moved towards a large wooden table in which a boiling pot was placed on a stove.
" Who has called ussss?". The first creature said to the man on a large hat and long black coat back facing them.
"Oh welcome!!!". The man said, tapping his fingers on the armrest of the chair.
" I invited you over, how was your trip?". He inquired, still back facing them.
"You mean trip to human world? Is bad, bad". Eldomore said as he sniffed the air.
" Vampire!!!". He hissed out loud and in distaste. "How vampire invoke us here?". He asked his partner in surprise, who was intently tilting his head, trying to see the man back facing them.
The man swivelled the chair as he faced them with a devilish grin on his lips. "Surprised?". He asked, standing up to stir the pot and then using a wooden spoon to scoop out a black stone.
" You a vampire?". "Vampires don't have power to invoke us to the human realm". Felnore said, scrunching his horrible patched face.
The vampire chuckled, pulling off his large hat, and revealing his well-trimmed grey hair. " Ah yes, you are right. Vampires do not have access to magic and that's why my little unconscious friends have aided me on this". He pointed at the two women, laying on the ground, wet with blood and their eyes wide open.
The creatures' expressions hardened at the sight of the dead women as they hissed in detest.
"We hate witches". They chorused in unison.
" I know exactly and that is why your kind is welcome to work with me. I have a huge task for you". The vampire said, revealing his elongated teeth.
The creatures stared at themselves and then at the man who had spoken like he was demented, who held a black stone which they could deduce from, he had it in use, in releasing them.
"We don't like vampires but we hate witches more. We are not your servants". Eldomore informed, his eyes glowing bright green.
" Come Felnore". Let's leave here and find witches for kill and body".
The creatures turned around to leave through the old door, which they had come in from. They felt an instant piercing pain that almost tore them into bits, making them let out a shrill cry.
"Ahh!!!." They both cried.
"Stop! Stop!! Stop!!!, you injure us". They screamed, both falling on the hard floor.
They felt the pain reduce and then disappear like it was never there and they raised their face to the man, who was walking toward them with a sinister smile.
" Who asked you to leave?. I wasn't done yet. Glad to inform you that I am now, in control of you, thanks to the witches who aided in producing the stone; which could harm, kill and invoke more of you".
And then he paused, staring at the shocked expression on the creatures' faces. "Tch tch, don't look surprised. I am your master". He gave a triumphant smile and his eyes glowed a darker red.
The creatures still laid on the ground, stared at him with popped eyes and horror marred on their faces. They didn't know what he had done to the black stone on his hands or how he had done it but they both knew, they were now stuck to the man, who had declared in using them for his gains.
"So where were we?".
And he grinned further.
