A few hours earlier...
"A- Ahwomozi", the words slipped from Bimo's lips, feeling her knees weaken the instant her eyes fell on the glowing red eyes within the shadows.
Shrouded underneath the broad leaves of the shrubs surrounding them, Bimo's eyes widened at the growing movements alongside the predatory growl that erupted from the darkness.
Her legs failed her, causing her to fall on her behind as she instinctively pulled back, feeling her back hit the long pair of legs underneath a fur coat.
"Why do you look so petrified?"
Bimo's gaze snapped at the voice above, locking eyes with the blue-green orbs that stared down at her.
Leviathan crocked a brow, before raising his gaze back to the warning enemies.
As the pair of glowing eyes multiplied, the creatures slowly crawled closer to the circular illuminated radius of the lantern — Bimo's heart thudded loudly against her chest at the hideous sight of the creatures that walked upright.
Stout and stunted— just below the waist length of an average human — the robust crusty skinned humanoid creatures had their grotesque disfigured faces traced with warts; their claws lined with dirt and their potbellies protruding over their private region as they licked their overgrown canines that pointed beyond the region of their lips.
Leviathan scrunched his face in disgust at the goblin-like beast.
"T- They're Ahwomozi..." Leviathan heard Bimo stuttering as her body shivered against his leg.
He cringle subtly to the fact she was that close.
"Move!" He tutted, pushing Bimo aside with the sole of his leather boot.
Bimo yelped softly, before recoiling herself closer to him in fear with her eyes watching the herd of ugliness surround them.
Leviathan rolled his eyes. Humans and their absurd sense of fear...
He then returned his gaze to the filths that drooled at them, growling like savages with most of their hungry gazes locked on Bimo.
He looked down at Bimo's shivering body and back. "Either your song of tears was so alluring or they think you look beautiful".
Bimo clutched onto his leg, "Ahwomozi are the most perverted creatures that have a kink for human women..." Her grip tightened, "They kidnap and violate women..."
"So they're just as disgusting on the inside", he hissed, watching them eye Bimo.
They suddenly darted towards her — Bimo yelped, burying her face in his coat.
A swift sound of gushy sliced flesh echoed above their heads, causing her to shriek. She then slowly raised her head to sight the equal halves of the carcass inches from her feet.
She instinctively drew back in disgust at the sight of the spreading black blood.
The other Ahwomozi growled viscously, slitting their eyes at Leviathan; who stood static in the same pose.
Bimo flickered her eyes at him in confusion. How did he just do that? — Her thought was immediately interrupted by the synchronized roar of the monstrous herd as they rushed at them.
Her heart gripped in fear of the painful fate in the hands of such savages.
A light sigh left Leviathan's lips. "My patience is far too slim for this," his eyes closed.
Bimo let out a heart-trenched scream as she grasped onto his coat like the only strain of hope for her life.
His eyes opened — black fog gushed from his left sleeve to shroud the air above them — just before Bimo's eyes could catch a glimpse of what was happening, the fog consumed the forms of all the ahwomozi beasts, spreading across the earth before them like a tide that swallowed the stout beings.
Bimo stilled with wide eyes.
The sea of opaque fluid-like mist gradually retracted across the ground — leaving behind no trace of the creature's corpses — before tailing into Leviathan's sleeve and vanishing.
Bimo's face was still frozen in bewilderment as her lids bartered twice. She carefully looked up at the strange devil she clung to, who bore an indifferent expression.
He then slowly turned to the side to spit on the ground. His face scrunched slightly. "They taste as they look." He spat out once more. "... Disgusting."
He ate them??! Bimo couldn't find the right mind to speak words at the moment as she only looked up at him, unable to move or stand.
Leviathan then let out an exasperated huff. "Now... Where were we?" His lucid blue-green gaze shifted to her.
With her lips agape and her dilated eyes unblinking, Bimo took a moment before clearing her throat. "D- Did you— AHHH!"
Her leg jerked backward, casting her flat on her face before the sharp clutches on her limbs dragged her backward.
Leviathan's brows arched high.
"Shit!" His eyes darted in the direction she was pulled to, catching a glimpse of the Ahwomozi that bit into her ankle and dragged her into the darkness of the shrubs.
"I missed one," were his only words before swiping fingers in their direction — a blue electrocuting dart materialized from his fingertips — despite his target already retreated into the bushes with the girl; the heightened screams of Bimo made it very clear his aim was perfect.
He passively walked into the vegetation, covering a reasonable distance before halting at the exact spot tainted with the black bodily fluids of the thing he killed.
Bimo remained on the ground, paralyzed in both fear and shock with parts of her front plastered with its foul blood. Her chest heaved rapidly as she looked at him bewildered.
Leviathan stared back blankly.
It didn't take another minute for Bimo's mind to finally lose grasp of the overwhelming scenarios as she immediately slumped back to unconsciousness.
Leviathan's head tilted with unimpressed eyes. Something then seized his attention — the skin of her ankle was rapidly oozing of blood, caused by the creature's bite marks.
He paced a few steps closer, creating a black mist from underneath his coat to consume the creature's blood and splattered remains, before lowering to a squat next to Bimo.
Staring at the fresh wound for a moment, he finally raised his hand inches from her skin, emitting a goo-like mist of black and blue hue that masked her open wound and sealed it almost immediately.
Shifting his eyes to take note of the other bruises and scratches blemished on her skin due to being dragged on the earthen ground, Leviathan's hand hovered over her unconscious body to drag along the mist — healing and sealing every injury without a scar.
"LEVIATH—"
And in that very moment, the pointed end of a blade's steel struck the soil next to him.
He slowly lifted his eyes to the three figures that stood with a feline beast growling behind them.
Leviathan let out a silent sigh under his breath... Talk about perfect timing.
