Days had passed and just like that – Charlotte's mind never forgot the day she had with Louis and the one scenario that she was even able to hold hands with him.
As seconds to minutes passed, minutes to hours and hours to days - Charlotte's mind never strayed from the idea that Louis will always be by her side and that is the most important thing to him.
Meanwhile, she was already in her room - writing something there while her lips couldn't even stop giggling. What she wrote were her plans for Louis and how to get him to stay by her side no matter what.
'Well I guess these are the lists of my plans with Louis and everything I wanted to do with him. Let's scratch around the market like it's been done in the past - all I have to do is do the rest and we're good to go!'
As soon as she finished writing, she finally held up the paper, which is her plan list, and at first laughed as if she were not a lady.
It was because of her excitement — she couldn't even stop herself from hugging the piece of paper as she threw her body onto her bed.
With eyes that looked so dreamy, cheeks that turned pink, a wide open mouth, eyebrows that slowly formed like a glimpse of the ocean waves - everything about Charlotte seemed like she was in another dream - she felt like she was in another dream in a kind of fantasy where the admiration on her butler changed something else.
By then, her head started shaking as her laughter turned to soft chuckles in her empty room.
Those sweet tones of her voice echoed through her ears and made her even more eager to meet Louis at the moment.
So - she finally decided to get up from her bed, and before she could even take a step from her room - she looked to the window first, just to calm her nerves and see the outside view - but what she saw was not reassuring at all.
It just made her eyes widen, and after that - her brow furrowed at what the scene made her look like
'What the? Just as he was telling me he had to go somewhere - is that the butler Louis way this time? I thought he was working on something but why did it seem like he was talking to another lady? This person is not even a lady! And yet he speaks to her? How could he! And this maid! Oh! If I only get the chance - I'll be sure to grab her hair and pull it hard so I can see her bald and embarrassed in front of Louis! Grrrrrr!'
Charlotte didn't even realize that she was already rumpling the curtain on the side of her window. Her eyebrows were already raised, as any rascality can be.
Her eyes were as big as the moon and her mouth was almost on the point of biting the curtain she was clutching tightly against the landscape she was already seeing
"UGH! I hate that!!!!!"
Charlotte knew that if she did things like that in her head, the image she had worked hard to build so Louis could trust her again would be ruined.
It's because of their emotions. She knew she had never liked that in the past. In the past - all she cared about was herself and the name of her household - even if the ladies paint her as villains, she doesn't care because she hated being taken advantage of in the first place.
Therefore, any lady who had an ulterior motive to be close to her was shunned the moment she glared at her with such a dangerous and chilling gaze
But what she was feeling right now was different. The moment she saw Louis talking to someone and that someone was also a girl like her, she felt like every blood in her body suddenly boiled.
She doesn't even realize it, but the curtain she was clutching tightly earlier already had holes through which the sun's rays coming from the outside view penetrated, but Charlotte - never dared to bother with such a thing.
This is because her expression cannot be described as pleasant at the moment. After seeing the outside, she felt like her stomach was turning. She felt like she was about to throw up - however nothing came out of her mouth but a controlled scream as she was already covering her entire face with the pillow from her bed.
She was screaming there secretly, her face already feeling the heat from what she was doing
'How dare that low status maid - talk to my butler like that? How dare she?! She even made him laugh! !!!! UGH!!!!!'
There was another controlled scream - but no one would give it any importance, because if they did - they would immediately see such consequences.
However, it was a different matter for Louis as he didn't care if the lady was having her moment in her room or something. All he cared about was that the lady changes, and that means she changes for the better.
He felt like the duke's kindness in taking him as his daughter's butler - Louis felt a sense of responsibility to take good care of the lady and change her unruly attitude.
But for Charlotte - she can't even see it because every time she tried to understand Louis - the sounds of her unusually beating heart were deafening to her senses and before she could investigate more about her new butler - she had already focused on her the everyday life of their new butler.
That's why for her, if she couldn't even see what Louis was portraying her - as she only realized what her heart wants. There, she refrained from covering herself with her pillows - she stopped screaming unruly as it had already become an irrelevant factor to her.
In her mind she needed to calm down as she had already fixed her pose. Arranging her pillow like a real lady would, she sat on the edge of the bed and closed her eyes.
There she breathed slowly until she knew her mind had already taken the rest she needed to do exactly what she had planned for the day
'A simple maid - never could and never will escape from me and Louis. I'll make sure he only talks to me and nobody else!'
Exclaimed Charlotte the moment she opened her eyes. She looked at the window and the curtain that had holes in it, and after that her expression changed from a serious lady to a grinning lady.
The moment the sunbeams came down from the Charlotte, she had a plan in mind, not only for her new butler, but also for the maid who had spoken to Louis
"No one could escape my wrath by taking what is mine"
Charlotte didn't know what she was already thinking about her new butler - all these thoughts running through her head had been a very deep subject that anyone could call an obsession.
For Charlotte, however, she wanted to believe what Harriett had told her, and she wanted to believe that she was only doing such things because of her admiration for Louis - nothing more, nothing less
"If I stay in here, there's nothing I can do. However, if I bravely step out of my room, I can change the two seconds I'm in here. So there's no turning back."
The whisper of an angelic voice echoed in Charlotte's room - however deep in those tones was the devil that lurked and wanted to draw her target close to her. Chills will surely pass over people who might hear such voice
With the courage Charlotte had - she immediately got up from her seat and looked back at the window to see that the two people who had made her frown her eyebrows were already gone. But that never — not once — stopped her from finding Louis and later demanding punishment from the maid
'First of all – I have to find Louis. He's my current priority for now.'
After pondering those thoughts, Charlotte needed one last look as she let out a long sigh and finally looked away from the window as she guided her feet to leave her room.
There she was about to go into the garden when she saw a very familiar figure walking towards her. At this point - Charlotte didn't even realize that the corners of her mouth had already lifted up and before she knew what she was doing - her hands caught the person only to pin them to the wall next to her door
"And where do you think you are going, Louis?"
In such a demanding voice, already searching for an answer, Louis' eyes widened a little until he shook his head and looked at the lady with the same smile he had for her
"My lady - it is for you to learn a new lesson"
"Oh! We're not talking about that here, Louis. I'm asking you right now - who is she?"
'Wait, is my lady talking about that maid who asked for my help earlier?'
"I'm not a very patient lady, Louis, so tell me before I ask her name."
'Why is Milady acting like this all of a sudden?!'
"M-My lad --------"
"Are you going to answer my question Louis or I will do something that will never come back!"
"M-Milady, she just asked me for help, so there's nothing to know----"
"A..."
"Two..."
"Three------"
But before Charlotte could finish what she was saying, Louis spoke immediately
"She's Kristine and we were talking earlier about her family and how her grandmother was very good at cleaning her garden! She asked me about the garden material earlier and that's all!"
'Is that enough of an explanation?'
Both of the lady's hands came loose as she cornered Louis' head earlier. For now — she's already nodding as if acknowledging something until Charlotte smiles at Louis
"Well, I guess it's only fair. Right now - I'll show you something else."
'Before the lady seemed crazy - now she seemed happy? That's another thing to note - she's pretty unreadable in times like these.'
