Night wolves

Long, long ago, my great-great-great-great grand father, Magnus was the alpha of the Red Crescent pack--- the werewolves. A lot of packs envied Magnus and his pack which started a war. Melissa, the alpha of the Pale Moon pack brought a witch who casted a spell on the Red Crescent because they were undefeatable. She made her way and killed Magnus which made the rest of the pack to fall. The spell casted on the pack was no ordinary spell. It changed their lives which is now hereditary. So, we are not just ordinary werewolves like normal werewolves. We are the Night Wolves.

I'm Talia Magnus Shelley. Oh yes...the great Magnus. They call me 'little Magnus' because of my behaviour. They said it's just like the great Magnus behaviour.

Because of the Pale Moon pack and the other packs who joined them, the great Red Crescent pack of then is now living underground.

Werewolves now know the scent of the Red Crescent pack because of the spell and now, we are hiding.

I always dream of living outside the ground. I don't know how the other world looks like, with the humans. Or maybe they are also werewolves but trying to pretend. I wonder how they taste like, or smell like. Do they also hunt preys?

My dad died when I was four. That night is a time I would never forget.

You know I was just four. All I thought of doing was to explore the dangerous forest. So my friend, Milly and I wandered around the forest as wolves. That time I never heard the story of the great Magnus. I didn't even know there was a pack called Pale Moon. "Milly,run up" ,I said in excitement as I ran so fast in the woods. The moon shone so bright but it wasn't a full moon.
"Wait up", she yelled and I stopped.
"You're too slow", I turned to her and she ran to me.
"At least, it's not my fault, little Magnus".
"It's Talia and don't call me that. Why do you wolves like calling me that?" Suddenly, I heard a stick snap around us. "Wait...did you hear that?" I looked at Milly who was trying to touch her tail.
"Hear what?" She stopped and looked at me. "I didn't hear anything".
"I think we should go back home". I started to walk and then stopped. There was a big black wolf with red eyes right at the front of me. I was so scared and I started to move backwards. I turned around and saw Milly also moving backwards because of another black wolf was walking towards her. She hit me from behind and turned to me---afraid.
"Well, well, well. Isn't it the night wolves?" The wolf behind me began to laugh which made Milly and I to flinch a little. "I'm sure Melissa will be happy about this".
"W-who-who are you?" I stuttered as my ears came down.
"We are the Pale Moon pack", the other wolf finally spoke.
"Pale Moon?
"Yeah, ever heard of that?"
"No..."
"It doesn't matter anymore because you are going to die here", he came closer and raised his paws to hit me.
"Don't you dare touch her", someone said from behind. He started to growl as he came closer---dad.
"Daddy", I yelled and tried to run but the wolf stopped me.
"If you dare touch her, you're dead", my dad came closer and bounced on him immediately which made the wolf to fall on the ground. "Talia..." he yelled. "Run! Milly and you should run and don't stop". He said as the other wolf bounced on him.
"No...I can't leave you".
"Talia...I said go!" He yelled and Milly and i started to run for our lives.
The next morning, the pack and I wandered around the forest, looking for my dad. And then we saw it. His lifeless body on the ground.
And that is why we are hiding from the Pale Moon pack.

Night wolves. We are called 'Night wolves' because we can only transform in the night and in the day, we are like humans. I don't even know how it feels like to be a full werewolf. And what I hate about being a night wolf is that, once the sky is dark, you'll just transform into a wolf, like automatically and you won't be able to change to human form.
So, here I am, in our room, the Red Crescent room,just staring at my mom, Madison who set up a meeting about something I don't care about. Milly walked to me and sat down beside me---on the floor. I just wanna leave underground and be free. I looked at Milly and smiled.
"Milly".
Uh-huh?" She looked at me.
"Should we sneak out?"
"No!" She yelled. "Don't you remember what happened. thirteen years ago?" . Oh yeah...I do. I looked down at my feet.
"You know it's the new moon tonight " I said as I looked at her.
"Yeah, but---"
"Talia", a feminine voice cut her off and I looked at her---my mom, Madison. She's the new alpha of our pack after dad died. Things really are getting smooth buh---
"Yes". I stood up.
"It's the new moon tonight".
"Yes. I can't wait. At least I'm going to leave this---"
"And you are not going", she cut me off and I frowned.
"Why is that?" I raised one eyebrow and folded my arms.
"You can't just leave this place. It's too dangerous for a young wolf like you".
"Why are you doing this? Mom...I'm an adult now. I can do whatever I wanna do".
"Remember...little Magnus---"
"Don't call me that", I snapped as a drop of tears rolled down my left cheek. "Just go...I don't wanna see your face anymore. Then I walked into my room.

"It's time", Jackson, my mother's right hand man said.
"But it's not yet dark", Milly said as she sat on a log.
"Yes, Milly but..." I walked to her. "They need to get ready". I smiled. I still angry at my mom but I got plans.
"Why are you smiling?" She squinted. "You are scaring me right now".
"Nothing", my smile grew wider.
"It's dark!" Someone yelled. Oh...
I looked at my hands. Hair began to grow longer on our skin. Nails began longer. Our bodies began to stretch and our bones began to bend. Clothes began to tear. Our ears became longer and tails began to grow on our butts. Then we became wolves.
"Oh, I'm so excited", I grinned and moved closer to my mom. "Let's go", I walked and she stopped me by blocking my way.
"Where do you think you're going to, Little Magnus?"
"Uhmm...outside".
"I said stay".
"And what if I don't?" I walked round her and stopped. "There is nothing you can do to stop me".
"Really?" She growled at me. "Mason, Jacob, come here", and they walked my mom. "Keep little Magnus safe and also Milly. Make sure they don't leave or it will be---"
"Yes, Madison". Jacob said with his head bowing at her. His voice was shaking. It was really obvious that he was afraid of my mom.
"Mother!" I yelled.
"I'm just keeping you safe", she turned her back on me. "Let's go, pack", and she left and they followed her.
"Mother!" I yelled and grunted. "Milly", I turned to her. "We need to do something fast".
"Uhmm...we can't let you do that", Mason walked to my front."Madison can't let you do that...whatever you're planning".
"What if I'm hungry?...do you think Madison, my mother would like that?"
"Well, uhmm---"
"What if she finds out that her sweet little Magnus died of hunger. Oh..." I licked my lips. "She is going to rip every part of you". I said and smiled. He flinched a little. Oh...so obvious he was scared.
"Fine", he exhaled. "But I will leave you with Jacob. I will go look for food", and he left.
"Okay, one down and one more to go", I mumbled and walked to Milly.
"Talia..." she whispered. "What about him?"
"Don't worry. I got this", I whispered and smiled. I cleared my throat. "Jacob!" I yelled.
"Yes, little Magnus".
"I just wanna tell you how handsome you look as wolf", I smiled. "Like your brown color just really suit you. Have you been using anything?"
"Well..." he smiled. "Nothing".
"Your mate is going to be so lucky", I said as I looked at Milly and beckoned to her with my eyes.
"Ohh..." she nodded and walked to the back of Jacob slowly so that he wouldn't notice her.
"Well...I..." his smile grew wider. "I think my mate is Brenda".
"Brenda?" My eyes widened. Brenda is actually my cousin. "And where is Brenda?"
"Oh, she's in her---" immediately, be became unconscious and fell on the ground.
"Oh..." I looked at Milly who had a log in her mouth. She used it to hit Jacob on his head. I smiled. Milly dropped the log.
"Let's go", she said and we left.

"Let's go", I said and we started to run in the woods. The moon shone so bright. The breeze was so cool. I'm actually a white wolf just like my mother and Milly is a grey wolf just like her father. We ran so fast in the woods.
"Wait up", she yelled as she ran. She was way behind me.
"There is no way I'm stopping. I just love running", I smiled. "Wohoo!"
"Stop, Talia!" She yelled and I stopped.
"What's wrong?" I turned to her.
"I'm so hungry". She walked to me. "Let's go hunt".
"Isn't it too dangerous?"
"Since when did you start worrying?"
"But---"
"I'm hungry", she cut me off. "Let's go hunt".
"Fine, fine, fine", I exhaled. "Let's go". We began to walk in the woods. "So what do you want? Rabbit?"
"Yeah...just anything. I'm so hungry".
"We need to be fast. Mother can't meet us here. She will just kill Jacob and Mason".
"Okay", then we heard a stick snap.
"Wait", I stopped. "Did you hear that?"
"Yeah, my stomach. So hungry".
"No, not that", I looked round. "Someone is here".
"Oh...what now?" She stopped and turned to me. "We shouldn't have disobeyed your mother".
"It doesn't matter. Just let's leave now". I took a step and someone blocked my way. Oh no... I flinched and moved back slowly. This can't be. Milly also moved backwards. Is that... this can't be. A human!
"Oh..." the man said and spat out the stuff in his mouth. "Isn't this a beautiful white wolf?" He smiled and he looked at Milly. "Oh...grey wolf too. I'm going to eat you so well". He moved closer to us slowly and brought out his gun--- a rifle. I began to growl. "Don't worry, you would be dead so you wouldn't feel a thing". He pointed the gun at Milly and shot it fast. Birds began to fly away from trees.
"No!" I yelled and Milly fell on the ground. He shot her on her left leg. Her beautiful grey fur soaked with blood.
"Talia, run!" She yelled in pain.
"I can't leave you". I tried to move forward but the man pointed the gun at me.
"I said run!"
"Milly", I turned around and began to run. The man began to shoot but I kept dodging the bullet.
Finally, I left the woods and now in the human world. My heart raced and I stopped to catch my breath. I didn't even know when tears fell down to my cheeks. I was so scared. I shouldn't have disobeyed my mother. Now, because of me...Milly's dead. She got killed by that human. If I find that man...I'm going to rip every part of him.
