"I hope I don't hear about the two of you running away from your tutors when I speak with them tomorrow. It seems far away right now, but it won't be long before you are made queen of this kingdom so while I like you having your fun, do not skip your lessons to go play in streams," Amelia said, cutting into a slice of cake she had to enjoy with her peace.
Mara smiled, trying to appear innocent. She didn't know her mother was aware of that. "Yes, mother."
Amelia held the fork with cake on it toward Mara for her to eat. "If you're going to be sneaky, you need to be better so your father and I don't find out about it. It would also help if you stay out of the sky when you are thinking of sneaking off somewhere. I might not fly, but I have eyes."
