I'm reading Mr. K's journal, apparently, how he started the project of extracting the power of The King's Tree was right after learning about its nature and it was enhanced due to his name, I'm gonna blame his parents for his future actions. And they're evil actions too!
So how he's able to find a way to extract something from The King's Tree was by accident, he dropped his water bottle on the root of the tree, and he glimpsed its powers once, a grain size aura was shown in the water that spilled onto the root of The King's Tree.
