Ella's POV
Phaedra.
I could say her name over and over again. I have never thought about children before but as soon as she was placed in my arms, I loved her. My mind raced after Yuri left and her word lingered in the back of my mind.
Cassidy won't come for her....
It broke my heart to know that he would leave her. How could anyone just leave their child? It made me think of my own mother, who had disappeared after Phaedra was born.
I rocked her to sleep by the fire as the sun came up. I was met with tired eyes as my father stepped into the living room and sat on the couch next to me.
"How is she doing?" he asked looking her over.
"She woke up a few times, but mostly she just sleeps." I smile playing with the small strands of hair she was born with.
"Ella, you know you can't raise her here. This is no place for a baby." he looked at me with the same deadpan look.
