Maria had never seen such maniacal eyes before. The eyes that were once filled with warmth, affection, and compassion now glared at her with an intent to kill. With the child in her arms, the donna took an unconscious step backward as panic ruled her heart.
Jane looked insane. Her hair was pointing in all directions, and her clothes were partially torn and she was disoriented. Her eyes held a madness Maria had never seen before; they were red and held dark circles beneath them. The second those eyes connected with Maria's amber ones, she marched up to her with steaming ears.
"Where the hell did you take my son?" She said before snatching the boy from Maria's arms and inspecting every part of his body.
"I am sorry, but you and Antonio were sleeping, and I know how tired you both were. "And I thought it was a good idea to take him out on a drive," the donna explained before pushing back some of her dark hair that stuck to her face.
