It choked everyone present as they sat in the van and drove towards what would most likely be their deaths. Diablo and Maria sat opposite each other in one of the vehicles. There was a thickening silence, and everyone was obviously on edge; no one was ready to know what it was they were about to face, and neither did they know.
Benny and Antonio sat beside them in silence, glaring at each other as though they expected the other to take out their gun and shoot. Diablo never took his eyes off Maria; her eyes had been trained at her feet for the past thirty minutes. She was deep in thought; she was scared, but not for her life.
