Maria had no idea how long she had been in those chambers. She was hungry; she was tired; she was cold. But worst of all, she was heartbroken. By whom? She was brokenhearted not only because of her actions, but also because of the cruel way the people she had grown to love were treating her. But she couldn't blame them; she knew she deserved it. But whenever Lorenzo's eyes and charming smile would flash in her mind, she wasn't so sure. And with no one to talk to about it, Maria felt even worse. Back when Maria was a teenager, she always had Jane to talk to. Even though Maria didn't have that many friends, she always had Jane.
Jane was always enough.
Maybe she should have listened to Jane and moved on. Maybe she should have forgotten about revenge and found happiness somewhere else. But there was no going back. She was going to pay for her actions in the worst way possible.
Her heart shattered at how unfair this was.
