Benny's face was redder than any blood he ever had on his hands. He clenched his fists hard enough to snap his fingers as he focused his killer glare on Diablo. The devil had his back leaned against the seat in his office, and for the first time in as long as any of the two men could remember, he had his head bowed.
But it was not out of shame.
No, the Devil felt no shame.
He felt nothing but anger and hatred, only this time, it was more lethal. He was more lethal.
He would be lying if he said Benny's voice alone did not irritate him; he only wanted silence and to be left alone. Although that was not entirely true, there was one person he wanted by his side. But she was lying unconscious in the next room.
