"This is why you want our blood?" Silas shouted at Fiona who stood opposite him, her arms folded in annoyance over her chest.
"It's to help humans," she curtly replied.
"But you are not human," he tossed the vial in his hand at the floor, making Fiona's brow twitch.
Fiona then scoffed, looking him up and down, "You're not even human anymore."
Silas clenched his fist, seeming ready to swing it.
Running over I enclosed his dominant hand in two of mine.
"Easy, easy," I soothed him, then threw an apologetic look to Fiona hoping to also soothe her. "What happened?"
"Did you know?" Silas used his other hand to rest atop mine. "Did you know what they brought us here for?"
