Chapter 9 - 1.9

[Warning: Sexual Assault, Violence]

At the end of the alleyway, a limo was parked, with two burly men in suits standing by the open rear door. My eyes blinked furiously at the realisation that this was not this guy's first rodeo.

Just how many times had this jerk done this? How many girls had suffered in his hands?

Rage and adrenaline surged through my veins.

Digging my heels into the ground, my nails clutched at his wrist as I tried to pry him off my hair, "stop."

He looked at me amused, not caring that I was breaking his skin with my polished nails.

"Look at you, acting like a little wildcat," he mused, pinching my chin to force our eyes to meet, "let me see what it is my brother likes about you so much…"

I twisted my face in both confusion and disgust. Was he related to Jianyu?

Then my heart skipped a beat. What if it wasn't Jianyu… What if it was that man?

"If you kill him, I'm sure Jianyu will cover it up, just like last time," System egged me into violence; however, images of those cold blue eyes had my breathing hitched.

Cold hands smothered my body, and my throat constricted. I felt powerless, frozen.

My hands dropped to my sides dejectedly.

"Interesting," he hummed, "do you remember him? Feel regret now?"

He laughed again, finally letting go of my hair, my scalp stung. Nodding to the guards, his hand rested on my lower back, ushering me closer to the car, "get in."

One guard left to sit in the driver seat, whilst the other remained to hold the door open.

This alley had been directly behind the front entrance, one likely used for employees to go in and out. I should have realised from the moment he brought me here, instead of to the area people went out to smoke that he had no good intentions.

So stupid.

When I did not move, his hand pressed more firmly on my back to shove me forward. As I felt his fingers graze my bare skin, it felt extra sensitive, almost ticklish. What was wrong with me?

"Side effect of the drugs," System replied, "I'm filtering it as fast as a baby like me can, deal with it."

"Useless," I accidentally cursed out loud in frustration. Hearing me, his hand pushed me roughly, forcing me to tumble into the back of the limo.

He climbed in behind me. Hearing the door firmly close it felt like the lid of a coffin.

Seeing his greedy, beady eyes glaring at me head to toe, my mind ran wild with the memories of that guy.

Backing as far as I could, my back pressed against the opposite door. I tugged uselessly at the door handle even though I knew it would be locked. The windows were all tinted, the divider to the front was raised up. I was completely isolated inside my own personal hell.

"Kill me," I pleaded with the System internally.

"Fight," System angrily chided.

Hands gripped my ankles, sliding me along the rear seats onto my back. I kicked my legs.

He laughed again and even managed to pull off one of my boots. "Bet your System's working overtime," he tutted, "shame I put in enough to counterattack that…"

My eyes widened. System. He knew I had a System…

"Shit," System interjected the loud panic in my mind, "he must be one of us."

"Luna," he smirked, his hands sliding up my legs, "do you remember me yet?"

No. I remembered nothing. Not as Zhiyue and especially not as this Luna. That guy had called me the same. Wait…

The memories flashed through my mind, one by one, he had never called me by Zhiyue's name. Not once. Had he known too?

Lips at my neck brought me back to reality.

"Just kill me," I begged System, "we'll just start again right? Just kill me."

Tears streamed out of my eyes as I lay as frozen and helpless as a rabbit in headlights.

"I, I, but Zhiyue?" System whined, panicked, and torn whether to follow my command.

My top was lifted, and my bra tugged down, exposing my breasts. Everything about me felt small, itchy, and disgusting. Fuck Zhiyue. I had no idea why I was even in her body, to begin with.

"Are you my System or hers?" I spat back internally.

I gasped unintentionally when rough hands pinched my breast.

"Stop," I begged the stranger who I must have previously angered, "please, stop, can't we talk about this?"

I knew it was futile, that maddening glint in his eye looked so familiar. The scar under my high-waisted pants stung with the remembrance of what had happened the last time I'd seen those eyes.

Much to my surprise, he did stop. Hovering over my body, he glanced behind his back with a look of annoyance.

"Look's like we'll have to wait til next time Princess."

Before I could comprehend his words his body fell limp onto mine, winding me. My weak limbs pushed him to roll off me.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked System, feeling breathless and tired from exerting my feeble strength.

"He's dead, well, brain dead," System replied, "his souls fled the body."

"Why?" I frowned, though relief flooded my panicked body. I pulled my bra up and my top down, and my hands unconsciously stroked my body as if seeking comfort.

Both car doors opened suddenly, making goosebumps spread across my bare skin at the touch of the chilly night air.

"Luna?" Jianyu's hoarse voice called out before his head appeared at my feet. My tense, cramping muscles finally relaxed at the sight of him.

"Lil' Luna bug," I looked upwards to see Dr. Wu smiling down at me, "need a hand?"

***

"Still think she needs a hospital," Dr. Wu said under his breath before sipping his tea.

"Last thing she needs is a paparazzi snap of her going back to that place," a very pissed-off Su Meng paced the living room, typing furiously into her phone.

Under her gaze, I'd turned down Jianyu and Dr. Wu's offer to take me to the hospital, asking to come home instead.

With an IV drip and System, the drugs and alcohol weren't a danger to me anymore. My head was much clearer, though, I wished it weren't.

"I feel fine," I waved my hand, forgetting how floppy it was. Then found myself giggling at how silly it looked and felt. My heart raced fast in my chest, making me feel giddy.

"Sure, fine," Dr. Wu sarcastically said before sipping at his tea again.

"You shoo," I huffed, not happy at his judging eyes, then sunk under the comforter on the large U-shaped sofa.

"Yes, piss off," Su Meng placed her phone down on the coffee table with a bit too much force, at this rate she wouldn't have a working phone by morning, "had enough with you rich pricks and all the trouble you lot bring."

Ah, was this why she did not like them?

"Hey, I have money too you know," I nudged her with my foot when she sat on the sofa beside me.

"Yes, but you earned it," she scrunched her face, "they were handed it on a platinum spoon."

I looked at Jianyu, who had just entered the room, to find an awkward silence filling the air.

"Take the noisy people away," my eyes pleaded heavily with him, then reached eagerly for the glass of water he passed me.

He turned to both of them, and both necks shrunk back at his glare.

"Lovely seeing you again Luna bug," Dr. Wu nodded, leaving quickly.

Su Meng, however, was a tad more reluctant. She picked her phone up and turned back to face me, "I'll be here after I've been to the office tomorrow, as far as I know not a word of this has gotten out…"

She then glanced at Jianyu, unwavering to his still cold gaze.

"Whilst you're here, are you sure about this marriage?"

My cheeks flushed, how could she ask it like that?

"Yes," he replied sternly, "we'll set a date for summer next year, will your company be alright with that?" There was underlying sarcasm in his tone.

"Shouldn't we-" I began to speak, but Jianyu's cold glare turned to me forcing my lips to quiver, no longer able to form words.

"Fine," she lifted her chin arrogantly, feeling the hostility Jianyu had towards her, "I'll talk with the boss."

Seeing her leave the room finally, I let out a heavy sigh of relief. I really just wanted to quit being Zhiyue…
