Exhausted I crawled into the bed. I'd been kept on my toes ever since lunch, even eating my pot noodle dinner standing up and helping the twelve men who were joining us pick a sharpened sword, giving an extra lesson afterward, ensuring they all knew enough not to accidentally lose a limb or catch their teammates.
All of them were from my afternoon class and after two lessons I knew their names, and their powers and my mind was racing thinking about how best to utilize them when facing the large numbers we'd face the very next day.
After around twenty minutes of me tossing and turning deep in thought Alex's thick arms engulfed me, squeezing me into his chest like a child would a teddy bear. I was not amused.
"Sleep," he lazily murmured into my ear, half asleep himself. He was so close I felt his lips brush against my ear. I wriggled against him, rolling over to face away from his stupidly adorable sleepy face.
