I know I would wake up from this nightmare.

BANG!
The sudden sound startled and extracted me from my thoughts. It came from one of the rooms within the house.
"This trick is getting old, don't you think?" I yelled to my prosecutor. I knew they were listening.
The silence was the only answer I got.
"Fine, then I'll come to you," I said confidently. I was beginning to enjoy my newfound confidence. I smiled at the feeling it gave me as I exited the old room and stood in the corridor. I gripped the knife in my hand hard.
Then I heard it.
DROP!
The sound of water droplets. It was faint at first but it got louder. Way too loud for my ears. The sound was provoking my very existence.
DROP!
Each drop sent a chill down my spine. It was almost as if all other sounds had been tuned out. As if every other sound of existence was erased. An involuntary shiver took over my body.
DROP!
Then I felt it.
