Ethan's Pov
The sound of footsteps outside my tent pulled me from my reverie, and I sat up in the chair.
"Ethan?" Said Nina's voice through the fabric of my tent.
"Come in." My voice was hoarse with disuse and had a noticeable crackle to it as she pushed the flap open just wide enough to peek through.
"Why are you still awake?" She asked, stepping into the tent and shutting the flap behind her.
Her long, dark blue dress trailed after her as she stepped into the tent and sat down on the edge of my cot. "You okay? You look tense."
"I'm fine." I lied, taking in a deep breath and rubbing a hand over my face. "Just tired."
She didn't appear convinced but shrugged anyway. "If you are tired, then why aren't you asleep yet?"
I sighed, leaning back against the headboard of the chair I sat on. "Can't sleep." I ran both hands through my hair,
tugging at a particularly stubborn knot at the base of my skull.
