Jason's Pov
The closer I got to my destination, the more the anxiety in me grew. The air itself seemed to be suffocating me. It felt like there was a hole in my stomach that wouldn't stop growing until it swallowed my insides.
Finally, I was at the entrance of the cave and after taking a deep breath, I slowly made my way inside.
As I took in the sight of my surroundings, my heart began pounding harder as the dread I'd been feeling became a thousand times worse.
It wasn't that I was scared of facing this so-called Nepth or something...But the fear I was feeling came from something else. I just couldn't place my fingers on what it was.
I continued walking forward until I came face to face with the flower, an iridescent red light emitting from the plant.
Its petals were growing darker with every passing second as they appeared like the life in them was fading fast. In all honesty, it looked pretty pathetic compared to its previous self.
