Holly was flabbergasted as the flower petals fell to the floor in slow motion. With trembling hands, Holly picked up the petals. She scanned the withered petals in front of her eyes.
Those petals felt dry on her palm, like petals that had been dried for months. Not just one petal, but two. Holly counted the number of fresh petals on that rose. In total, there were still ten more petals until the flower wholly wilted.
"I have to tell Felix."
Just as Holly said that Felix appeared from behind the door. He raised an eyebrow when he saw Holly crouched beside the bed. But when he saw what Holly was holding, Felix rushed to her side.
"What's this?" Felix asked, picking up the two withered petals.
He also observed the flower petals with a racing heart. He didn't expect to get this when he got back to the room.
"Suddenly, the flowers started to wither," Holly muttered.
