As they ran, Layla thought about Auburn. She knew that it had to be him who was behind the attack, there was just no way that it could be anyone else. No one else was concerned with attacking a pack this far into the forest. And no one else would have reason to.
Layla's pack was situated deepest into the forest, and whoever was attacking would have to specifically curve around Silver Hurst and Sycamore to get to them. Which meant that unless someone was coordinating an attack on them, they would have passed by Silver Hurst, at least, if not come straight through them.
No one else would have taken the time with that precision. It had to be Auburn.
But what Layla couldn't understand was why. There could be no reason for Auburn to be attacking her pack now. As far as he would know, she wasn't there. Henry had taken her from his Mansion that night, when they were supposed to be mated.
