Dean had dropped them both off at the entrance to the hotel, and Layla had gone off to her apartment. Tonight had been a lot for her.
She was used to witnessing executions, it wasn't like it didn't happen in the forest. Bronx had killed wolves that encroached on their territory before, even her father, when he'd been alive, had been responsible for disposing of spies.
And the pack had been called to witness often enough. It was more than just a show of violence. It was an assurance to the entire pack that they were safe and protected. And it also served to stop many wolves from challenging their Alpha for leadership of the pack.
It was a necessary part of being in a pack. It was just the way that their life went.
