I had wanted to speak with Flo at my parents' house but apparently, she wasn't there. She had gone into town to do some shopping.
I knew what I had said to her would come back to haunt me. I shouldn't have asked her to stay. I should have just let sleeping dogs lie, now I had to take back my word. I knew that this was going to be a difficult one for her to swallow.
I didn't know whether or not I should have gone out and looked for her or stayed at my parents' house and waited. I eventually decided on staying at my parents' house. I needed to make an unpleasant call to Byron.
My mother was still a bit worked up, so l decided to distance myself from her and sit in the car. I would get the privacy I needed in there. I knew eventually she would get over it.
l opened my phone and searched through my contacts. When I stumbled upon his number, I prepared myself mentally for what I was about to do.
