Callie POV ...
I walked into the gamma lodge and headed straight for the stairs. I took them two at a time until I made it onto my floor. I kept my head down and walked to my room in a hurry. Once I placed the key in the keyhole and twisted it, it opened for me and I stepped inside. I shut the door behind me and slid down to the floor.
I placed my head in between my legs and I let every single emotion I had been feeling at that moment out. I had tried so hard to hold it together but I just needed a release.
It was in moments like these that I longed for the days of being a wolf. I never had to deal with so many emotions all at once. My days were hard but they were simple. Wake up, find food, and survive. Those were my three easy steps.
There was no one there to impress or make good impressions on. There were no secrets that needed to be kept hidden. There was just me and nature.
