Kameron POV ...
The antiseptic smell hit my nose first, followed by a slight pinch in the elbow of my arm. Behind the darkness of my eyes, I could see the faintest hint of light from above me. I groaned as I tried to shut it off.
"Kameron," I heard a distant voice call to me.
l just wanted to sleep. Why couldn't they let me sleep?
"Kameron," it called to me again; but this time, it sounded closer and much clearer. It was Rex.
What was he doing in my room?
Behind the strong antiseptic scent was another scent-faint, but it was there. A scent I grew addicted to in the last few days.
Callie ...
She had been here. She had been in my room.
Then, my eyes snapped open.
Everything came flooding back to me all at once. Callie ran away and the pack of wolves that she and I clashed within the Woods.
My eyes were hit by the fluorescent bright light above me. I quickly shut my eyes and then opened them again slowly to give them time to adjust.
