How dare he drag and throw Chris as if Chris was an inanimate object, and not a person worthy of respect?
Chris landed with a heavy impact that must have broken one of his bones. He groaned and wriggled, but couldn't sway his body. For a moment, Chris thought he couldn't move because of his injury.
However, it turned out that it was Mammon's presence that made him numb. Chris fell sideways, and he saw Runa.
His daughter was in a sitting position, not moving. Her hair fell over her face.
Chris dragged himself, desperately mustering what he had left to move.
"Runa!" He felt himself scream, but the sound was nothing more than a faint, hoarse echo. Chris reached out and touched Runa's arm, then something sucked him in, removing him from reality.
