Chris came to the treatment room more often. He used the excuse of a head wound, which turned out to be not as bad as he thought, just so he could meet Lucille.
Until the wound had healed and Chris was still coming there, Lucille pointed at him with a question that made Chris' face turn red.
"Do you like me?"
"What?" Chris was surprised at the question. His eyes quivered in confusion, and he looked down to avoid Lucille's piercing gaze at him. "Well, yeah. You're a nice friend—"
"That's not it," Lucille interrupted. She put her hands on her waist and tilted her head so that her long ponytail fell to one side. "Do you like me like a man likes a woman?"
Chris didn't expect Lucille to be this direct. He pulled his lips back and put himself together to confess his feelings, just like Lucille had dared to ask him that.
