Runa and Arden were too absorbed in the conversation that they didn't notice the guards were coming. The guards were on the other side of the building and they shone their flashlights through the windowpane, which shone on Arden's face and the back of Runa's head.
With no words, Runa grabbed Arden's hand and asked him to run.
"Stop!" shouted the guard.
Runa's steps got faster. Her lungs felt like they were about to explode and Arden's running speed overwhelmed her. But because of him, they could widen the distance with the guards.
When they arrived at the intersection, Runa took a wrong turn and they ended up at a dead end. In front of them was a wall two meters high. Behind this wall is the main building. There is a door here, but it is locked now, and Runa doesn't have time to look for the key.
Runa faced Arden and held his shoulders. "Lift me up."
