"Aren't the demons can't harm us?"
Mandy became even more worried when she saw the chain that was now wrapped around Ethan's arm.
"Not directly," replied Ethan. "But they have a way of manipulating us into following them. And I'll kick them out before they can do that." Ethan glanced at the lake and Mandy realized something.
"Is this lake—"
"Yes. This is the way to get there. To hell. This lake can also give you what you want. But it will trap you and drag you in there, so you have to be careful."
This is too fast and too sudden, Mandy thought after Ethan had stopped talking.
She had decided to become a Demon Chaser on a spur of the moment and now she was in a completely strange place. A place that could drag her to hell or lift her up to heaven. And Mandy didn't want both.
There was actually another reason why Mandy had become a Demon Chaser, but she didn't want to say it, not even to Runa.
